Patented safety technology. Designed to warn your cat before they reach a danger zone.

How Wandercat works.

Set a danger zone. Wandercat warns. Your cat learns.

Because you can’t always be there when they’re outside.

Outside is where their world begins.

We want them to stay free – no fence, no cage.

But some paths are too dangerous.

That’s exactly where Wandercat comes in.

In the end, it’s not about technology.
It’s about the time you have together.

How Wandercat works

  1. 01

    Set a danger zone

Mark the areas in the app that your cat should avoid.

  2. Cat wearing Wandercat near the edge of a danger zone

    Your cat learns

Over time, your cat learns to link the signal to the boundary.

A sound only your cat can hear.

When your cat gets closer to a danger zone you’ve set, Wandercat emits an ultrasonic tone. Your cat can hear it, people can’t. The closer they get to the zone, the stronger the tone. As they move away, it fades again.

The tone warns your cat. It’s unpleasant for them, but it doesn’t hurt.

A cat wearing a Wandercat collar stands in a garden just before a danger zone marked in red. Signal waves come from the collar, and a meter shows: the closer the cat gets to the zone, the stronger the tone.
  • Audible to your cat, not to people
  • A warning by sound only
  • Unpleasant for the cat, but not painful

Everything at a glance.
Right in the app.

  • Safety buckle

The safety buckle is designed to open in a controlled way under dangerous pulling force, so your cat can free themselves more easily.

Safe every day: In normal use, the buckle stays closed.

  • Precise positioning via GNSS

Wandercat uses GNSS to determine your cat’s position particularly accurately.

Good to know: This lets you reliably see your cat’s location on the map.

  • Virtual fence with ultrasound

You set a safe area in the app. When your cat approaches the boundary, Wandercat emits an ultrasonic signal that only they can hear.

More than a warning: With training, your cat can learn to turn back at this boundary.

  • Find My Cat

Wandercat can flash and play a signal that people can hear. That makes it easier to find your cat when they’re hiding nearby.

For the last few metres: Sound and light help where a map position alone isn’t enough.

The Wandercat team together outdoors

Why we’re building Wandercat.

Wandercat started with a simple question: can we warn a cat before they reach a danger zone – instead of only seeing where they are afterwards?

Over the years, that idea turned into one prototype after another. Today, it has become Wandercat.

Frequently asked questions

Wandercat & your cat

What makes Wandercat different from a classic tracker?

Classic trackers show you where your cat is, or alert you once they’ve left a zone. Wandercat steps in earlier: when your cat approaches a danger zone you’ve set, Wandercat gives them an audible signal right on the device.

How does my cat learn the signal?

The signal is perceptible to cats and is always triggered in the same place – at the boundary of the zone you’ve set. Over time, many cats link the signal to that boundary. How quickly this happens varies from cat to cat.

Can people hear the tone?

No. The tone is in the ultrasonic range and can’t be heard by people.

Does the tone hurt my cat?

No. The signal is unpleasant for the cat, but not painful. How an individual cat reacts to it varies.

Which cats is Wandercat suitable for?

Wandercat is designed for cats from approx. 3.8 kg with a neck size of approx. 23–31 cm. The collar is adjustable in several steps.

What happens if Wandercat gets caught on something?

The built-in safety buckle can release under heavy strain.

How does the warning work, and when does the tone change?

When your cat approaches a danger zone you’ve set, Wandercat produces an ultrasonic tone right on the device. The closer they get to the zone, the stronger the signal; as they move away, it becomes weaker again. How your cat reacts to it is individual.

Technology & use

Does the warning work without a smartphone nearby?

Yes. The warning function runs directly on Wandercat. Your smartphone doesn’t need to be near your cat. A data connection is required to show the location in the app.

Can I also locate my cat with Wandercat?

Yes. Wandercat uses GPS and Galileo for satellite-based positioning. A data connection is required to transmit and display the location in the app.

How is Wandercat charged?

Wandercat is charged via USB-C.

Waiting list & delivery

How much does the waiting list cost?

Nothing. Signing up is free and non-binding. You’re not committing to buy anything.

What do I get from the waiting list?

Does the waiting list guarantee me the Special Cat price of €199?

No. The Special Cat price of €199 applies to the first 20 actual purchases. A place on the waiting list doesn’t guarantee this price or a place among the first 20.

Can I unsubscribe?

Yes. You can remove yourself from the waiting list at any time via the unsubscribe link in our emails.

When will Wandercat be delivered?

Delivery is expected to start in summer 2027. As Wandercat is still in pre-series development, the schedule may change before series production. We’ll let you know about any significant changes in good time.

Development & privacy

How far along is Wandercat’s development?

Wandercat is currently in pre-series development. Individual technical specifications may still change before series production.

Is Wandercat already a finished series product?

Wandercat is currently in pre-series development. The technology has been developed over several years and tested with various prototypes. Individual technical specifications may still change before series production. The required product testing and conformity assessments will be completed before series production starts.

Is the technology patented?

The method for detecting and signalling danger zones is protected by a granted patent (LU505066B1, international patent application WO2025051965A1). The product design is also protected as a registered design.

How is my data protected?

Location data is used to show you your cat’s location in the app. The details of how it is processed are described in the privacy policy.
